8.8.88 - 8.8.06

August 8th, 2006 by mfg

Hey,

Thanks each & everyone for your wish. Thanks for remembering this day. Today is not only the birthday of one of us but we also like to dedicate for the ‘8.8.88-birthday’ that revived the free spirit of new generations for the future of the nation and the people.

We’re so pleased to see that our new generations are still not forgetting this spirit. We strongly encourage you to keep this spirit high and rise! Here, we’d like to highlight a couple of things:

- We do not need to be politicians nor activists to change the fate of our future!
- We do not have to fight each other for own differences!
- We do not want to live under this darkness of fear!
- We really can not take all these shits anymore!!

Swearing upon all those fallen souls of 8.8.88, this 18 years is already enough to rise the unity of new blood generations to take over the time to change.

One last thing about M.F.G music. We’re now working to finalise our new EP album. But before we relese our new songs, MFG will soon introduce the fresh hiphop group to the scene. You might probably have heard their first contribution, "Than Shwe" song. If not, you still can download our site @ http://lunge.multiply.com/

Today, we posted a MTV in memory of 8.8.88. It’s not MFG but broadcasted by DVB. The song is called "Kabar Ma Kyay Bu Heyt!", it’s first made in 88 and now re-recorded by 88gen students. So those are very memorable footages and especially good for younger generations who have not eye-wistnessed of the unforgettable ‘People Uprising’. Feel it! We’re gonna keep that MTV on MFG friendster page for some times. Again, thanks for your wish and support in our music. Keep the spirit free!!

Faithfully Yours,
M.F.G

Straight from the underground

May 2nd, 2006 by mfg

Please come to MFG unofficial site [ http://lunge.multiply.com ] and enjoy ‘The Others’ music album. These materials are NOT by M.F.G. However, they are more than normal love songs and somewhat inspiring. Under this very restricted system in our nation, music is the only way out for our youth to express our feelings and the gun-power cannot stop it.

So we’ve attempted to collect and compile those songs that cannot be passed the national censor standard, not because of the usage of explict language, but for the content of lyrics.  They are not necessarily political but could be social cause as well. Of course, those are interest of these days Myanmar youth. We’re not intended to go back to classical in this case.  Check ‘em out. Here’s the current list:

1. We are Burmese / Proud to be Burmese
We’ve received it through email and it’s contributed by Nameless. The audio is not-so-good quality but the rage of the vocal sounds so furious. It’s a rap song that would possibly remind you of some popular mm hiphop group.

2. 07-05-05
Anonymous contribution. This one is not really political but a rap song about May 7 bombings in YGN, last year 2005. Some American families have sued some middle-east-based banks for supporting terrorist bombing attack in palistine that killed some American workers. But what can our Burmese friends do for those who have been innocently victimized on May7?? We can only say "R.I.P dear friends" with this beatboxing hiphop.

3. BURMA
An English rap by Teddy G from his album. We’re a little bit concerned about sharing this song, relating to the copyright. This boy, US-based rapper, is planning to release it in his commercial album. Since he called Burma his home, this Burma song should reach to the heart of other Burmese as well, we think. Also we recommand the listeners to check out his album [ http://www.myspace.com/teddygyesyall ].

4. Act-1
We love this piece since its live performance. But we think that the creators won’t like it to share here so the question is; why did they make it at the first place? This is not HipHop but you should check out this Nu-Metal piece. That was so kickass on live.

5. Dohn Yin
Another rap song distributed on LuNgeAnthem e-zine. Ta Khu Khu Dot Phyit Thint Nay B. Ta Khu Khu dot Lote Ya Dot Myi. Dohn Dohn Dohn Yin ka Dohn Yin.

6. Shet
Min sin sarr mi yet lar? Min si mhar ‘Myanmar’ so dae myo chit sate yaw shi yet lar? Ae de lout nyan nhae ta lar? Kel par shi par say dot! Nout ta khar thi chin yayy yin ah myo thar yayy sate dat nae mam htaet par! Fuel your self nationalism with force when you write songs next time…

Updated track
===============
Song Title: Aung Pwe Si tho’..
Artist: Unknown
Album: Untitled

This piece is emailed to us after ‘The Others’ upload. This one sounds a bit old school pop. (actually it’s like Ko Ant gyi was playing with protool  j/k). Anyway, it got its own message. So we updated ‘The Others’. Thanks to new-page.

To be updated…
================
Than Shwe
Dude, very funny song! Think it’s gonna be the next opening song for May Wa Di and City FM. You guys are gonna be like LOL! Yet to be uploaded later.

So what cha gonna do??
=======================
Well everyone..keep it up. If you got some new school approach that can reach our next generation to be inspired, bring it on. Doesn’t matter, rap or hiphop or pop or rock or alter or metal. We realy don’t wanna make such requirements but it’s gotta be "owntune" and try to be modernized pls.

By distributing those music hereby we never intended to cause any trouble to any individual. You can always email to myanmarfuturegenerations@gmail.com We love to update here and share with the others.

Reunion Song from upcoming album

February 5th, 2006 by mfg

Hey y’all,

Have you ever heard of Union Song in mm? well this got nothing to do that but this is M.F.G’s Reunion Song. Now we’re playing sample of it on our friendster profile page and trying to release it around Myanmar’s Union Day (12 Feb). This is our first single since after previous release in last year.

Here we’d like to talk somethig about our music distribution method. Since the beginning in 2003, M.F.G never intended to sell our songs. We distribute mainly online for free download of all our songs. You’re free to re-distribute ‘em as you wish. All our songs are available to download from our official website (www.MM-FG.net ) However, our beloved MPT has been helping us to save the bandwidth by restricting .mm users to access our site. So we created another mirror site at LuNge.multiply.com to reach our friends from Myanmar.

So stay tuned. There’ll be more MFG songs in 2006.
This time, we promised!
This time, we’ll be different!
This time, we’ll hit ya deeper!

All comments are welcome..Keep in touch!

Yours,
M.F.G

LuNge Anthem 2005 (raw version)

February 1st, 2006 by mfg

MFG: now playing "LuNge Anthem 2005". No FX, no mixdown and not done yet. We’re just playing a raw version here on friendster page for you all to taste.

Yes! That’s how we begun. That was a song that made up of M.F.G history. Here we’re gonna trace a little bit about how it all started.

Back then in the mid of 2003, some times after DePaeYin masscare happened, MTV Asia also announced a free Burma campagin on thier channel to play various international artists sing for our country, Myanmar. Somewhere in the universe, 3 friends who have great love in creating music got some kind of idea to make a song. A song that we’ve never done before in our lives. A song for our country, anthem for our generation. So we did it without thinking much of further, without any expectation. We just wanted to share it with friends and our people all around the world. After we named it "Lunge ah tan (Voice of Youth)", later penplayed to "LuNge Anthem", we needed call ourselves something. It’s like a group work rather than some individuals. So a guy called it "Myanmar Future Generations - M.F.G" and said it in the intro of the song. (Such a big word huh? Really we didn’t think much) The song started with children singing of the national anthem and a speech line that we thought suit with the theme.

To distribute it online, we made a little homepage and uploaded a mp3 on it for free download. Then we sent hundreds of emails to serveral lists advertising of the song. We encouraged anyone from Myanmar to listen to our creation. That’s all we wanted. But we were too shocked to see that the download counter was increasingly so fast. We got many many reponses from people. That became a milestone. Although we didn’t think about making a group to create such songs, somehow the flow of LuNge anthem inspired us to carry on. So we made more. We ganged up more friends who came to contribute something into our efforts. M.F.G became a world wide network.

Well that was how. Up until now, M.F.G released an album, titled "Supernova", which contained total 10 songs. Since last year, MFG planned to release 2nd album but we only made one song officially due to many situations. Now M.F.G is back to finish this unfinished business. We’ll release more songs from our upcoming album through out 2006. Our distribution is mainly based online. Free download from our network. M.F.G songs are dedicated to all Myanmar people thus any songs can be permitted to re-distribute as you wish and that helps us alot.

M.F.G songs can be downloaded as mp3 from our official site @ www.MM-FG.net where you can also find our media footages.
If you cannot directly goto our site, you still can download those mp3s from our mirror sites as below.

University Students Demonstrate Against School Bus Fare Increase

Sittwe
University students demonstrated against an increase in the school bus
fare, moving between downtown Sittwe and the university on 24 January,
said a student from Sittwe.

The incident took place after the transportation authority increased the school bus fare from 50 to 100 kyat.

About
100 students started their demonstration on Wednesday by walking to
schools, boycotting the university bus after the fares were doubled.

One
day later the number of students increased to over 1000, all walking to
the university on foot.  It took on the appearance of a demonstration,
he said.

Rakhaing State authorities worry
about the students’ demonstration and ordered the transportation
authority to reduce the school’s bus fare back to its original price.

The transportation authority complied with the students’ demand and reduced the bus fare from 100 to 50 kyat on 26 January.

Students
are now satisfied with the reduced bus fare and are happy with their
